January in Phuket - Mostly Harmless

As mentioned in the last update, in 2013 I will be sticking to updating Jamie's Phuket Blog, which has already had 4 new posts this month, there just does not seem to be time to update 2 blogs regularly, plus with the weather blog, there's only so much I can say.

As an alternative, for Phuket weather updates, please do follow me on Twitter where I tend to mention the weather most days.

Phuket Weather - Quick Update 25th January 2013

January - on average one of the driest months in Phuket and it has been hot and sunny almost every day, a few days with some strong breezes, a couple of quick showers of rain here and there, but mostly hot, dry and blue skies everywhere.

The good weather meant we could do some work at our house. The area in front of the house had become a mix of grass, plants and bricks, rather a mess, so we had builders in for about 4 days to flatten and tile the whole area. Cat approves.



The last 2 days have been less sunny - Wednesday 23rd was kind of grey all day, and the night was cool and breezy. Cool in Phuket terms means about 25C. Yesterday also grey, but got hot and sunny in the afternoon and then last night around 11pm we had a big, big thunderstorm, my rain gauge measured about 50mm of rain. Our power went off for several hours, but it was cool and breezy enough to sleep with the windows open. We don't get many power outages where we live. This morning (Friday 25th) it's all sunny again with blue skies all around and the air is fresh and clean.
