Patong Beach Webcam
There's already a Karon Beach webcam and a Surin Beach webcam on the blog, and now we can add a Patong Beach webcam, with thanks to my friend Wes who has set up a webcam company (Sawadee Cam). Hopefully there will be more online soon! The picture updates every few seconds.
For hotels in Patong beach, check my list of Patong Beach Hotel Recommendations on the Phuket Blog, or check for a full list of Patong Beach Hotels at Agoda.com - you can book online here.
The webcam looks out to the west over Patong Bay from the 15th floor of the Patong Tower. So there's always a good view! You can see a bit of the beach and across the bay. Good for weather spotting! The luxury apartment that hosts the webcam is available for short term vacation rental. Visit www.PatongTower.dk/ for details. Wes is also putting up some timelapse videos from the webcam on YouTube - see Sawadee Cam on YouTube.

You are on the best page to check the weather! Most of April was very hot, occasional rain / thunder mostly at night, last week has been wetter since it's now the start of the low season. Keep checking the webcam!
keep watching the web cam but don't see any rain how is the weather we will be there next week, thanks for all your info, it

Weather this week has been quite wet, but today (7th May) was better, nice sunset too!

Showers. Next week? I don't know, probably more showers. Watch the webcam every day, I think you will see clearly that it does not rain all the time :)
the weather looks nice today, hope this keeps up, looking forward to our first visit to phuket, have been looking at your blog, it is very interesting, thanks...
Thanks for the new webcam of Patong. Fantastic view.
Thank for the cam on Phuket, be there thursday, made me happy its not looking too glum..
The webcam in Karon does not work. Hope it will be fixed soon. Very good blog! :)
Yes, the Karon beach cam could be down for a while, as the Marina Phuket resort is being renovated during the low season. So stick to this one :)
Hello, we come to Phuket on 17 juin -2 july. Lot of rain in this period? Havy rain all day? And is the sea calm or to wild for swimming? We also go to Kho Phi Phi. Thx
You can check June and July weather for 2006 - 2011 by looking at the Weather Archives link on the left. My answer for low season weather is always the same. You will get sun, cloud and rain. Some days will be very nice, some won't. The sea might be rough, or might not be. Enjoy!
It's 6.45 pm in New Zealand, and only 1.45 pm in Phuket, but camera showing black sky, night lights and looks like it's night time..... can someone check the camera please? we have friends in Phuket at the moment, so have been checking the weather most days and hoping they are having a wonderful time... Hope the camera or something is on the blink, or there's something seriously wrong in Thailand!!
Yep, camera is not working, the owner knows about it ...
Hi, Myself and my husband will be flying to Phuket on 26th August...do you think there is any chance of some sun?
Diane :-)
Hi Diane,
Yes. Look .. we just had 6 weeks of sunny days, and a couple of wet nights. I think your chances of seeing the sun are very high.
Hi Jamie,
Wife and I are driving down from BKK to Phuket. MJust in from the UK where summer was "varied" Chances of sunshine days ( Arriving 18 Sep fopr ten days)
Thankx
Chances of sunshine = good. Hope so, as I have a holiday starting 21st September!
Dear Jamie. We will be in Patong during the first 2 weeks in October and according to the forecasts we won't see much sun. Can you please give us your opinion on what we can expect? We are looking to swim and sunbathe. Will it still be possible?
Thanks L,L,D & S
Hi LLDS,
Well, on average, early October is just about the wettest time of year. I'm hoping it's nice too as I will also be on holiday in the first week! You never can tell what the weather can do, but seriously is your whole plan to sit on the beach? Please do get out and explore Phuket!
Hi Jamie , yes our intention is to sunbathe, sunbathe and then sunbathe some more. We will ne bitterly disappointed if our weather expectations are not met! Thanks anyway! Is your live camera updated each day?! I hae been using it to check the sky however the photo appears to replicate?
Of course you joke, but seriously October is the wettest month on average - see Phuket Rain Averages - and do check my original Phuket Blog for ideas of things to do. It does not mention sunbathing. The webcam on this page is temporarily out of order, it's not my cam. The owner says he's waiting for a new camera or something. The webcam at Surin Beach is working OK.
Cheers!
Hello,
I am coming to Phuket on October 21. Does the weather fine up towards the end of October?
Thanks
Yes, end of October is normally better than the start of October.
YES......The cams up and running again
Hi Jamie. For once not a ', how's the weather' during must stay question. A simple one though. In your opinion what is the best place to get authentic seafood, out of a resort. Ta. Gary (due next Monday)
Seafood - we like Laem Hin Seafood on the east coast of Phuket a bit north of Phuket Town, or you can try the floating restaurants at Coconut Island, reached from Laem Hin - see Floating Restaurants.
Hi, Travelling to Phuket on Friday apr 12th do you think we will get sunshine?
Yes you will get sunshine, but not 24 hours per day. Today for example, 8th April 2013, it was hot and sunny most of the day, though started a bit hazy. April is the HOT season, not the wet season.
