Patong Beach Phuket Webcam

There's already a Karon Beach webcam on the blog, and now we can add a Patong Beach webcam, with thanks to my friend Wes who has set up a webcam company (Sawadee Cam). Hopefully there will be more online soon! The picture updates every few seconds. The date and time seems a bit messed up at the moment, but the cam is showing live pictures!

For hotels in Patong beach, check my list of Patong Beach Hotel Recommendations on the Phuket Blog, or check for a full list of Patong Beach Hotels at Agoda.com - you can book online here.

The webcam looks out to the west over Patong Bay from the 15th floor of the Patong Tower. So there's always a good view! You can see a bit of the beach and across the bay. Good for weather spotting! The luxury apartment that hosts the webcam is available for short term vacation rental. Visit www.PatongTower.dk/ for details. Wes is also putting up some timelapse videos from the webcam on YouTube - see Sawadee Cam on YouTube.

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

You are on the best page to check the weather! Most of April was very hot, occasional rain / thunder mostly at night, last week has been wetter since it's now the start of the low season. Keep checking the webcam!

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Showers. Next week? I don't know, probably more showers. Watch the webcam every day, I think you will see clearly that it does not rain all the time :)

The webcam in Karon does not work. Hope it will be fixed soon. Very good blog! :)

May 19, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Yes, the Karon beach cam could be down for a while, as the Marina Phuket resort is being renovated during the low season. So stick to this one :)

Hello, we come to Phuket on 17 juin -2 july. Lot of rain in this period? Havy rain all day? And is the sea calm or to wild for swimming? We also go to Kho Phi Phi. Thx

May 26, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

You can check June and July weather for 2006 - 2011 by looking at the Weather Archives link on the left. My answer for low season weather is always the same. You will get sun, cloud and rain. Some days will be very nice, some won't. The sea might be rough, or might not be. Enjoy!

It's 6.45 pm in New Zealand, and only 1.45 pm in Phuket, but camera showing black sky, night lights and looks like it's night time..... can someone check the camera please? we have friends in Phuket at the moment, so have been checking the weather most days and hoping they are having a wonderful time... Hope the camera or something is on the blink, or there's something seriously wrong in Thailand!!

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Yep, camera is not working, the owner knows about it ...

Hi, Myself and my husband will be flying to Phuket on 26th August...do you think there is any chance of some sun?

Diane :-)

August 23, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Hi Diane,

Yes. Look .. we just had 6 weeks of sunny days, and a couple of wet nights. I think your chances of seeing the sun are very high.

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Chances of sunshine = good. Hope so, as I have a holiday starting 21st September!

September 16, 2012

Anonymous Anonymous :

Dear Jamie. We will be in Patong during the first 2 weeks in October and according to the forecasts we won't see much sun. Can you please give us your opinion on what we can expect? We are looking to swim and sunbathe. Will it still be possible?
Thanks L,L,D & S

September 18, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Hi LLDS,

Well, on average, early October is just about the wettest time of year. I'm hoping it's nice too as I will also be on holiday in the first week! You never can tell what the weather can do, but seriously is your whole plan to sit on the beach? Please do get out and explore Phuket!

September 19, 2012

Anonymous Anonymous :

Hi Jamie , yes our intention is to sunbathe, sunbathe and then sunbathe some more. We will ne bitterly disappointed if our weather expectations are not met! Thanks anyway! Is your live camera updated each day?! I hae been using it to check the sky however the photo appears to replicate?

September 21, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Of course you joke, but seriously October is the wettest month on average - see Phuket Rain Averages - and do check my original Phuket Blog for ideas of things to do. It does not mention sunbathing. The webcam on this page is temporarily out of order, it's not my cam. The owner says he's waiting for a new camera or something. The webcam at Surin Beach is working OK.

Cheers!

Hello,
I am coming to Phuket on October 21. Does the weather fine up towards the end of October?
Thanks

October 01, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Yes, end of October is normally better than the start of October.

October 03, 2012

Blogger GIZMO :

YES......The cams up and running again

Hi Jamie. For once not a ', how's the weather' during must stay question. A simple one though. In your opinion what is the best place to get authentic seafood, out of a resort. Ta. Gary (due next Monday)

November 20, 2012

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Seafood - we like Laem Hin Seafood on the east coast of Phuket a bit north of Phuket Town, or you can try the floating restaurants at Coconut Island, reached from Laem Hin - see Floating Restaurants.

Hi, Travelling to Phuket on Friday apr 12th do you think we will get sunshine?

April 08, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Yes you will get sunshine, but not 24 hours per day. Today for example, 8th April 2013, it was hot and sunny most of the day, though started a bit hazy. April is the HOT season, not the wet season.

April 08, 2013

Blogger Graham green :

we will be travelling next week to patong for 2 weeks how do you think weather will be in that time

June 01, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

June is low season (May to october is low season) and some low season days are sunny, some cloudy, sometimes it rains a bit, sometimes it rains a lot. Exact prediction is not possible, just cross your fingers!

June 01, 2013

Anonymous Anonymous :

Good Morning, I'm enjoying your webcam views of Phuket's weather especially the Patong one, it hasn't updated since yesterday is there a problem? Hope this rain hasn't washed it away...... Coming to Phuket at the end of this month and do hope we get a few decent days of good weather.
Thanks

June 14, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Yep I know... this webcam is not perfect, but it's not mine... so there's nothing I can do to fix it .. suggest looking at the Karon beach cam instead, that always seems to be online.

June 14, 2013

Anonymous Anonymous :

Jamie, I posted the comment on the 14 June and I have to say the weather at the moment is just tremendous. Still love looking at the web cam and seeing the parasailers take off from the beach then peer out our balcony and watch fly by, gives my husband quite a buzz. Tell me something, is it worth going to these big Thai boxing nights that they are advertising on the beach? My husband enjoys watching UFC, I'm not fussed either way. Thanks again and hope this weather hangs in. Ps. For other readers the holiday inn busakorn wing is just fabulous.

Never been to Muay Thai, I am not really into fighting as a sport, though plenty of people in Thailand love it! I imagine a night at the fights would be fun for a fight fan!

Hello Jamie, it's very sad... We just bought tour to Phuket, but absolutely foregot about the weather and wet season!!! That's very frustrating, couse all we need is sun and ocean:c
What's your forecast from 16 to 28 of July or we don't have any chance to get ton and get sun?..

July 08, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

It's not very sad at all. Low season weather in Phuket is mixed, so you will get sun, and you will also get rain, nothing you can do and it is impossible to give any kind of accurate exact forecast. Just cross your fingers and check my Phuket Weather Blog for updates :)

July 08, 2013

Anonymous Anastaisa :

ahaha OK, Jamie, we will cross our fingers)
thanx)

Hi there,
Were looking for some sun around the 11th-19th Aug. The internet says rain, rain and more rain... can you shed some light? :)

August 03, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

"The internet" does not know the future. Weather forecasts more than a couple of days ahead are vague and often wrong. It's low season .. weather is mixed - latest updates - see the home page of this blog (Phuket Weather Blog) and you will see it's mixed. You WILL get some sun, but more than likely you will get some rain too. Enjoy!

we are arriving in Patong, Phuket on Saturday....please tell me it will be sunny and hot!!!! we just had so much rain in Cape Town I need to get away from it

November 19, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

It will be sunny and hot .. and do try to get out of Patong and see Phuket! Check my Phuket blog for things to do etc... :)

Blogger Andy :

Hello Jamie,

Thank you for the great blog! A lot of useful information.
I'm coming to Phuket next Wed 25th of Dec and the weather forecasts don't seem to be very promissing, however from your blog I can see that it should be nice weather? Can we expect some sun in the period of 25-31 Dec? Please say yes :)

Many thanks!
Andrea

December 17, 2013

Blogger Jamie Monk in Phuket :

Hi Andrea, If you look at the latest update on this blog (go to the home page Phuket Weather Blog you'll see the latest weather. And I mention the forecasts being useless. Forecast for today on the BBC weather was thunderstorms. Actual weather - blue sky and sun all day. Answer to your question - yes you will get sunburned!

December 17, 2013

Anonymous Anonymous :

Hi. I will be there next week and the weather doesn't look too good. Any hope of having some sunny days this month?
